Shana Norton
Principal Harp
Shana Norton played her first Mid-Texas Symphony concert in the late 1980’s — and has been playing them ever since! She is a founding member of the eclectic flute/harp duo Chaski (www.chaskimusic.com) and plays honky-tonk music in a Western Swing band. She frequently performs using a Scottish-made lever harp, playing traditional Celtic tunes and commissioning new music for the instrument. Shana studied with Eileen Malone at the Eastman School of Music, and with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s principal harpist, Julia Herrmann Edwards.
