Rita Linard

Principal Flute

Rita Linard is principal flute of the Mid-Texas Symphony. A frequent soloist and chamber musician throughout South Texas, she has performed with the the Nova Trio, Sonora Flutes and the King William Winds. She plays frequently with the San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Victoria symphonies. In the summer she is a performing/teaching faculty member at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan, and often plays with the Victoria (Texas) Bach Festival. She has her doctoral degree from the University of Texas at Austin and also attended Indiana University, Northern Illinois University and the University of Illinois. She is professor emeritus from the University of Texas at San Antonio and has also taught at Texas State, St. Mary’s, and Texas Lutheran universities.
